your cake looks perfect and those blanched, slivered pistachios really do make a difference. next time i make that cake i’ll have to splurge;.

Welcome back! I like that your husband was disappointed there would be no frosting. I liked this cake more than the Chocolate Velvet Fudge Cake, but I agree the GLA is better than both.

That’s definitely how we are going to eat it next time – unadorned and with ice cream. We love, love, cake with ice cream. And this cake really doesn’t need the Goop (humbly offered opinion no. 1).
